Hello alltogether,

CZ's area of civil engineering (http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Civil_engineering) is still full of red links which need filling.

I would like to suggest to distribute a bit of the work at least for the main fields of civil engineering, beeing

  • General engineering
  • Surveying
  • Construction engineering
  • Water resources engineering
  • Hydraulic engineering
  • Environmental engineering
  • Transportation engineering
  • Fire protection engineering
  • Construction management
< missing on the civ.eng. portal
[/list]

Any volunteers that feel able to take one of these articles?

Kind regards,

Jochen Wendebaum

so why are there still so few engineers willing to work on CZ? Too much else to do?  Wink

Any ideas how we can get more people interested in CZ?

You've got one Civil Engineer here. However, the big articles are, as the name suggest, big jobs. It's quite a daunting task for any one individual to attempt any of these articles single handed.

What I suggest is that, an editor (or lead author if no editor is active) lays out a crude template structure for the proposed article. Then the lesser authors can fill in the small spaces within the template. The editor can then help coordinate the sections into a coherent whole. So, pick one topic from your list. Propose a structure and I'll fill in the bits I know. Hopefully someone else will fill in the bits I don't know. Once we have one done, we move on to the next and so on down the list.
