This is an official call for discussion of Editorial Council Resolution 0001: adopt rules.  Anyone, author or editor, may discuss the proposal here.

Read the resolution here: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Editorial_Council_Resolution_0001

Text of the resolution itself:

Quote
The resolution

Whereas, The Citizendium Editorial Council is in need of a method of decisionmaking that is fair, wise, and efficient;

Resolved, That the Council adopts the document "Editorial Council Rules of Procedure," as its rules of procedure.

Method of execution

The Council will immediately begin using the rules upon adoption.

Amendments

There have been no amendments.

Note that we are "testing out" the rules by following them in order to adopt them.

Ready, set,.......GO!  Wink Wink

It will be interesting to watch this process from the very beginning.

Hopefully this will not be a "Ready, fire, aim"... Grin

I'm having too much fun today....

Concerning the discussions posted here: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ_Talk:Editorial_Council_Rules_of_Procedure

So far so good.  From a member position, I think the first phase went well.  Though this was a LARGE issue for our first project, the individual response system seemed to accomplish its purpose of avoiding the "group mentality".  Having said that, it was also interesting to see how many had similar concerns, especially about time factors.  I also think the Chair's management of the issues brought out in the individual emails on the talk page was very helpful.

At this point, I feel that I can't make a second round of decisions until these issues are integrated into the newer version of the resolution and I can re-read it.

Overall, I feel encouraged that we will have a workable process here soon.

We're in the middle of a vote on a motion to amend, here:

Close of voting is Monday morning.
