I've tweaked the Geography Workgroup Page (
http://pilot.citizendium.org/wiki/Citizendium_Pilot:Geography_Workgroup) to properly draw a distinction between geography as a subject, or academic discipline, and geographical objects (oceans, continents, countries, cities etc).
But I wonder if it would be better to haul out the object stuff into a new
Citizendium Gazetteer of the World. I reckon this could be hugely attractive to a wide variety of authors who can write knowledgeably about their local area but who might be a tad tired of the Wikipedia equivalent being trolled and vandalised, or by the creeping trivia in many local area articles. And once you have lured the author in, who know what else they might get interested in.
