The entry I've been working on, Communication, was categorized under Linguistics so I'm posting here to get things started.  Hi!

IMO Comm. is a broader term belonging to more disciplines than Linguistics or even Social Sciences, but this is a nice place to start.  Grin

We're going to set up a Discipline Workgroup Committee to revisit and revise the list of workgroups.  Maybe we will have a Communications workgroup after all.

Yeah, I categorised it under Linguistics as there didn't seem to be anything else it could go under. But you're right; it ought to have a separate category (and then possibly moved from Linguistics).

I would concur.  At my university, linguistics is in social sciences, and communication (studies) is in the humanities.  This seems pretty common.  However, I've also seen it within schools of business, and also in psychology programs (in social sciences)!

The problem is that there is a limit to how many workgroups we can have at this early stage (to avoid spreading editors out too much).
