Bonjour,

Are we talking about a version of CZ in Parisian French,or a version in Quebecois,or the other French Canadian languages?
Aidan.

While there are many versions of spoken French, there is only one written standard: same grammar, same spelling, and pretty much the same vocabulary, except for the occasional use of regional terms. This is quite different from English or Portuguese.

I am ready too to contribute to the Citizendium in French when it is created. However top priority is to develop the English version for now. Anyway, I find it interesting to collaborate with people from a different culture and a different langage than mine.

I'm ready to join Marc and all the others in a French version.
But, M.Sanger, I understand the difficulties, I do not complain, it's more my own stupidity, but I couldn't find if I can reproduce my OWN articles from my OWN WEB site, mentionning its address. I'm ready to share the copyright with the Citezendium, of course, but quite naturally, I would like to see my very serious site and well known site(in French) mentioned, if possible.
If not, no problem at all, but if you allow it, it would be an additional motivation to add articles for many. Thanks for your answer (could you just refer me to the place where this item is being duscussed ou explained in order not to create an off-topic here).
Bonne chance!!!! Georges

To forum regulars: Perhaps someone can post the link to the page where someone else (John?) was asking for people to state the languages they were fluent in? And we can record some of these good folks? How hard would it be--bear with me on this--not trying to create more work for the tekkies, just brainstorming--to start an experimental wiki for the French writers to--for lack of a better word--sandbox in? Except we wouldn't delete their efforts? Just a thought--like, could it be a pilot thing, closed to public viewing until we had some qualified administrators/editors? edited to add: Philippe, je demandais si nous pourrions commencer un CZ en français expérimental. Il pourrait être clôturé au public ?

Could you define what are the necessary and sufficient conditions to create the "Citizendium en Français", as well as the delay to implement it, as soon as all the conditions are fulfilled? Plagioclase

I cannot answer your questions, Patrice. But, as Georges says above, the consensus seems to be that the priority is to develop the English-language CZ first. This makes sense, given that we're still working out policy and procedure issues.
Would you be so kind as to link to your CZ user page in your signature? Thanks!

Hi!
I'm french, so my english may be not very well but i want to support this idea. I'll be very pleased to contribute to this project which seems providing what wikipedia hasn't offered in its democratic project. For my part, i would help citizendium for art hsitory and history matters.
Thank you for opening a french language space very soon.
JB
