Absolutely. I could also, if pointed to a list of images, go through the ones we have and make sure the copyrights are specified and correct.

I know Stephen had lots of pages started, so keep looking.  Here are some that I see:

http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Category:Media_Assets_Workgroup

http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Wanted_images

http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Images

http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Media_Assets_Workgroup

http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Media_Assets_Workgroup/Templates

Looks like a LOT of work!  It would be GREAT to have this all organized!

Though there are currently few if any images that are filed in the categories he created, they will be very useful in the future. I'll have to look through the templates and pages in more detail to determine what is truly useful. As far as the main page for the workgroup goes, I'll probably switch things up a bit, as I had a bit of a different layout in mind, but most of it will be basically the same.

Drew, I've uploaded about 200 images for use in articles I created. Many are my own creations and many are from Wikimedia Commons. Others are from public domain websites, from websites where I obtained documented permission, from websites that had statements permitting re-use, from Flickr and a few by fair use. I think that I licensed all of them correctly but maybe I made a few mistakes.

You can find links to my 3 image galleries at the top of my user page. If you want to check them, feel free to do so. But please do not change the formatting of my galleries.

At the moment I'm more worried about people who have jumped in, wrote one article, and uploaded an image for it. Of the few that I've seen so far without any sort of copyright information, all of them are from people with just a few edits. I'm also currently working on speedydeleting all the images that aren't being used, especially the ones with duplicates currently in the system.

I'll take a look at your photos Milton, but I wouldn't worry to much about it. The most I ever change is adding the copyright info, or a speedydelete if the image is not in use. In the case of our active contributors, I'll probably end up messaging them prior to adding the tag so I don't step on any toes.

Ok, I'm back and I did a major overhaul of the media assets workgroup. While I like Stephen Ewen's ideas for the workgroup, in practice it was a bit confusing to navigate, and had many unnecessary or redundant items.

You can take a look at my changes here --> http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Media_Assets_Workgroup

I don't think there will be any problems with it.

If anyone has any requests, you can request them on those pages, or message me directly via talk page.

The media assets workgroup is open for business! (please note, this does not mean that it is an official workgroup yet, just that we (meaning me, for now) are accepting requests).
