Just wanted to meet all of the editors for the chemistry workgroup. I'm surprised I'm the only author with 5 (ATM) editors. You guys got any ideas on where to start?

Hey Stephen...  Nice to meet you.

The Fall semester between Thanksgiving and the Holiday season is most definitely the busiest of the academic year.  I've been following the activities, but have only just started to steal some time to have a serious look around.

I made a major rewrite of the Wikipedia article on Analytical Chemistry a few weeks ago and it looks like most of my structural changes have survived.  I would still like to make some changes and add more information beyond simple links to lots of jargon-laden techniques...

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that (not that I didn't know it)--that the season between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the busiest for most academics (at least in the U.S.).

Perhaps, then, we shouldn't actually try to do so much recruitment in the next few weeks.  I mean, we might have more luck in January.  What do you think?

Finding a down time will always be hard. There are grant deadlines all over the place in January.  I would say the only really quiet time is end of May and early June.  The summer is full on conferences or field work, so even that can be a busy time.

The summer is (I think) a great time to get students, though. High school and college students probably have jobs and whatnot, and I would assume (since I don't have a job yet) that having something to do in the evenings is a good way to waste time. Personally, I have nothing to do during much of the summer since my friends don't drive (meaning no geocaching... Sad), and this project is something that I have a genuine interest in.

hi all

Meeting seems nice, but remember we are from all over the world, speaking for myself I am from Europe, so schedules to actually meet might get rather complicated.

regards
