To deal with the need to have a basic tutorial on naming, specifically needed as a definition for the homeopathy article, I created [[chemical name]]. Much of the material is elsewhere, but not, as far as I could see, organized in the same tutorial manner.  If I missed an existing article, I have no ego involvement in this one, and redirecting or merging is fine.  This is only a stub.

In like manner, unless there is one, I will be writing one tentatively called [[pharmacological designation]] (pharmaceutical?) to cover proprietary and nonproprietary names, with mention of the internationalization effort on the latter, and linkage of this terminology to more formal chemical notation. Again, the intention is to collect some very basic definitions for the nonspecialist.

Advice/pointers much appreciated. Telling me that I'm just duplicating something I hadn't found will not, I assure you, cause any substantial elevation in my neurotransmitters.  Grin

You might think about checking with Robert Badget.  He seems to have a "big picture" in mind with the medical articles and might be interested and have some input for you.
