I've been writing stuff on cryptography, see [[Talk:Cryptography#Quasi-outline]]. Lots of it is incomplete, or even missing completely, and could really use contributions. The rest could use contributions, comment, criticism, ...

Mostly, I work bottom-up, trying to do the lower-level stuff first, tie it together later. Howard and various others have done quite a bit of related stuff in a more top-down way, covering [[communications security]] for example. We're meeting in the middle in some places, but there are still large gaps in others. This might be a good time for other writers to pitch in.

Normally, another citizen only slightly more the ornery then me, just kidding, would ask you to add a link for your home page onto your profile so we can easily jump to it, read about you, and click on your article contributions to more easily help you with your articles. Grin

The top-level article got renamed [[information security]], although there are are various subarticles dealing with things that are indeed electronic-oriented COMSEC.

Prime Minister, you can't take the bull by the horns if you're grasping the nettle. I mean, if you grasped the nettle with one hand, you could take the bull by one horn with the other hand, but not by both horns because your hand wouldn't be big enough, and if you took a bull by only one horn it would be rather dangerous because...' My CZ page is http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/User:Sandy_Harris

The article I'm most concerned about is http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Block_cipher It is quite a large article and I think quite close to being ready for approval. It desperately needs readers and commentators. I wrote it and Howard has commented extensively, but it really needs other viewpoints.

There's a list of others at: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/User_talk:Howard_C._Berkowitz#Approvals.3F

I rarely use the forums; the Great Firewall sometimes blocks them and I'm inclined to think most discussion belongs on article or policy talk pages anyway.

Hi, Pashley (aka Sandy Harris):

(1) You misunderstood David Volk. He meant that you should go to your profile in this forum and where it says "Signature", put your link to your CZ user page (i.e., http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/User:Sandy_Harris). Then whenever you post here on the forums, that link will appear at the bottom of your post.

(2) I'm not sure that its correct for a Citizen to use a pseudonym here in the forums. Is there some reason for your using Pashley here rather that your real name of Sandy Harris?

I am in China, where censorship is fairly draconian.

I use a pseudonym wherever I can, not either that I'm saying much that the authorities here would be upset by or that it would be hard for someone to track me down from the pseudonym. It just seems a sensible precaution. Given a choice, I'd do all my editing under a pseudonym as well, but I understand the policy arguments against that.

My link is now in my profile; thanks for correcting my misinterpretation. However, I just put it in the profile, not the signature; I do not want it automatically displayed with every message.

Found a fairly old message on a policy change; forums now require real name, so I've done that & put link in signature.

Speaking as a Constable here (but a friendly one, of course), your last message now looks perfect, Sandy!

But what would China be without dragons?
