I only recently discovered Veropedia. Does it work well? Is it not basically the same idea as Citizendium had when it was starting out?

Articles on Veropedia cannot be edited. Instead, people are supposed to edit the article in Wikipedia and the improved article can then be imported in Veropedia, replacing the older version. I wasn't here when Citizendium was starting out, but I believe that CZ started as a fork of Wikipedia, while Veropedia is more of a filter.

Ditto that.  Also, isn't it the case that not just anyone can upload to Veropedia?

Also, the identities of Veropedia contributors are not known, and they bill themselves as "expert-vetted" when as far as I can tell, they have few if any experts actually involved.

It's actually closest in concept to a 2002 idea of mine, the Wikipedia "sifter project," except without actual verified experts...

It seems that we don't have to worry too much about the competition by Veropedia. Today I searched on Veropedia:  IE7 and FF2 both came back with a funny  error message.
I tried to search ''Moment of inertia", a WP article that is on Veropedia with several errors that I know of. Today somebody corrected on WP a serious error in this article (an error  I didn't know of), and I wanted to check what Veropedia said, it said error message.

Interesting.

I'd thought that Veropedia was a sanctioned WP mirror, but that recent article in which both CZ and VP were slammed as if they were the same sort of project seemed to indicate that the Veropedia krew are renegade WP editors.

Then again, that author didn't know what he was talking about, so I can't take his words for granted.

Good point. I had to laugh at the part about 'why would experts write for Citizendium'? The obvious retort (which apparently didn't occur to him) is 'why would an expert want to write for Wikipedia when they could write for Citizendium instead'?
