Quality and reputatation re:odinism and related article

Is anyone else watching the development and now cold storage of these articles? I have to say my main complaint has never to remove the articles themselves.  In fact, i made an extra effort to clean up seance to make that point. My problem is that the quality was awful.

Next, the self promotion is the worst I've seen in citizendium.  There are many geocities personal webpages cited and all are very similar, either run by the same people or cloned. I tend to suspect they are all closely connected to one enterprise.  To think that a citizendium editor would cite these as credible is a bit strange.  We should consider the potential impact on the credibility of citizendium.  I am quite sure one potentially negative thing like this could blow up in the press.  Those articles with the geocities links have been sitting there for months and we can't blame WP for their low quality, they are CZ originals. The WP articles don't cite any of those websites.

Just checked it out, as I had not seen this. Well, there are good reasons why a CZ editor cannot approve his own work. There might also be problems with CZ editors just looking for self-promotion out of CZ. The exact reasons for the cases you cite I do not know, and will not speculate upon. In my own case, though, I have not made a single link in articles to any of my online publications or website: it just looks too tacky. Besides, WP links to my out-of-date website even though the home page tells people [in a band across the top] not to trust WP...

I agree with Chris, several of the topics warrant an article, that is not the question. There are two articles that I think should be deleted: "The Odin Brotherhood" and the "Other World Society". For those who want to see the content of the Odin Brotherhood, please look here: http://pagan.wikia.com/wiki/Odin_Brotherhood_(Book) and make up your own mind whether this is a serious scholarly work on this topic. The "Other World Society" is a student club of the university he works at.

The other topics can be salvaged.
