I have obtained permission and located public domain images for some articles I am writing but have no technical know-how in placing them in the wiki. Do we have an instruction book for this?

There's a CZ page here. It includes a How-to and some information on which images you're allowed to use and under which conditions.

I'd like to suggest making this topic a sticky one on the top, for those of us, who like me, couldn't figure this out and couldn't find the proper help page, on putting images in articles.

thanks

Gene, just note that as you progress through that page it looks as though it reverts back to a wikipedia version.  So much of it may not be relevant.

If you upload an image using the upload wizard there is a lot of helpful content although that too is incomplete for some scenario's. Try uploading an image from flickr but make sure it is creative commons, use the flickr advanced search to select only the images that are CC.  Also make sure the authors name is a real name not a nick name.

Yes, the upload wizard was helpful. Once I got to the page about using images, I did manage to follow the helpful instructions and got the image uploaded and into my article.  But it took me a while to find the instructions to do that, which is why I suggested making this thread a sticky on the top, so people could more easily find out how to find the information on getting and using images.

thanks
